Convent of the Sacred Heart is New York City’s oldest independent school for girls, educating students in grades Pre-K through 12. As part of an international network, we are committed to a set of principles shared by all Sacred Heart schools. Known as the “Goals and Criteria,” these principles articulate the core components of a Sacred Heart education, and charge our community with a unified educational mission. The Child School/Legacy High School is an academically rigorous, yet supportive community addressing the needs of a diverse population of special children, many of whom have not found success in other schools. Our children learn differently because of disorders in thinking, listening, speaking, reading, spelling, touch, or perception, etc. The School fulfills a vital function in the New York City Public School System, serving the needs of children with learning, social/emotional and developmental disabilities throughout the five boroughs. It is chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York to accept youngsters whose needs cannot be satisfied within the public education system. Under this authorization, The Child School is classified as an approved non-public day school, whose students may qualify for 100 percent tuition payment by New York State.

Roger Williams originally came to New England as a resident of the Colony of Massachusetts. He found himself to be in serious disagreement with the combination of Church and State in that colony, and eventually returned to England and received a charter to found the Colony of Rhode Island. The principles that were established in Rhode Island included the freedom to worship God in any church, without a State Church. There was a clear separation of Church and State. Schools were established by the various Churches in Rhode Island rather than the State. This fact permitted the parents to maintain control of the education received by their children, allowing them to be trained in moral and ethical disciplines based on the parents desired faith system. Roger Williams Academy is a Christian school. Moral and ethical standards, and wisdom literature is taken from the Bible.

WHCP’s high quality curricular program meets and exceeds California state standards. Our team of faculty and administration bring a wealth of experience in the best international pedagogical practices to WHCP. Many of our superb faculty hold advanced degrees, including several PhDs. LYA was founded in 1946, in response to the Greater Springfield Jewish community's need for a quality Jewish day school. Matlock Preparatory (MP) believes in the advantages of concurrently challenging and nurturing students. Matlock is a small private high school for gifted and creative students. The school has no religious affiliation. The school focuses on individual attention, promotes the individual and self and lets students grow academically and personally in a safe environment. Matlock Academy is academically oriented and offers advanced placement courses, dual curriculum courses with local colleges. In addition to the regular day program, Matlock offers a separate homeschool curriculum for parents who want to have their children learn at home. MP also offers private tutoring, teen coaching, and summer school. Matlock is also a SEVIS approved high school and has a separate international high school program for international students who want to learn in the United States in sunny Florida.
