Cathedral Prep was founded in 1921 as an all-boys Catholic high school by Archbishop John Mark Gannon of the Diocese of Erie.Steeped in Gospel values and the mission of the Catholic Church, Cathedral Preparatory School and Villa Maria Academy will excel as a teaching and learning community fostering service, strong moral character, global leadership, and esteemed academic success.

The Frostig School is celebrating 60 years of excellence in educating children with learning disabilities in grades 1-12. The school offers a full range of academic and support services, which are targeted to children with learning disabilities (such as dyslexia and nonverbal learning difficulties), Asperger's and ADHD. It has WACS accreditation and all completed courses, credits and high school diplomas are recognized by the California Department of Education. All teachers are credentialed in learning disabilities and key subject areas, the fine arts or physical education, and there is a low student to teacher ratio (6:1). The Frostig School serves the areas of Los Angeles County and the San Gabriel Valley and offers student transportation.
