One of the reasons why you want to send your child to school in the States is because you want him/her to become independent. Due to the one-child policy, students in China do not have the social skills that students in the US have. The separation, oftentimes, is more difficult for the parents than the child, and I have seen many cases like this. My recommendation is if your child has the ability to get into a good boarding school, then you should go that route.
