The Vista School, located on 18 acres in West Los Angeles, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and offers children who have struggled in other settings an opportunity for academic success. We provide children identified with learning disabilities or developmental challenges, as well as those experiencing social problems, emotional problems, behavior problems or other mental health issues, with classes that can meet their special needs while encouraging them to grow emotionally and academically. Our educational and clinical staff creates an atmosphere of success, taking into account the personal challenges of a child's life so they can have a positive school experience. The Vista School is successful because we believe that each student can achieve. Our staff serve as models and encourages students to both learn and grow, recognizing that they are here for more than academics. A SMALL, FRIENDLY SCHOOL FOR A MAXIMUM OF 25 HIGH-ABILITY BOYS WHO NEED A GOOD EDUCATION, A MANAGEABLE WORLD, AND AN UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF ADULT ATTENTION. Traditional courses taught in small groups of 3-5 boys put every student near the teacher. Family-style dorms house 5-6 students. Outdoor activities include sledding, canoeing, hiking, camping, and caring for farm animals. Informally-played sports include soccer, touch football, Wiffleball, and tennis. Arts activities include drawing, pottery, music lessons, and drama. All faculty live on campus. All meals are eaten together in a family-style setting. Weekends include both scheduled activities and time for relaxation and independent play. Hampshire Country School may be an especially good choice for those boys who find large schools overwhelming or overstimulating, including boys with nonverbal learning disabilities (NLD/NVLD), Asperger's, or ADHD. HCS is primarily a middle school, but students may also enroll at the upper elementary grade or the start of high school.

Gavilan Hills Academy in Gilroy has a strong academic orientation. It is our belief that children learn best when challenged. Accordingly, students are grouped in classes (referred to as Forms) by ability rather than chronological age. Class sizes are limited so that each student's progress can be closely monitored. Student's grouping sometimes changes with each academic subject so students can receive accelerated, average, or remedial instruction. While it is not necessarily unusual for some students to vary as much as two traditional grade levels between their academic/age level, they are regrouped for social and physical activities during the school day.

In addition the program conducts an annual school wide Olympia tournament and extra curricular activities throughout the year.
